I don't seem to be able to find out any info on inmates there, when they died, why they were in there etc. i do think they got married at the parish church, Sheffield in 1856. Wood pre 1850, Barnsley

Thu Mar 26, 2009 2:35 am by Kim in OHio

My ggg grandparents came from Barnsely to Pennsylvania, USA in 1849. My ggg grandfather was baptized at St. Mary's 19 Feb 1817. His name was George Wood, son of Joseph and Elizabeth Wood. He and his wife, Hannah Hilton Wood were married, I think in 1835 at St. George's...but I'm not sure. Does anyone have access to St. George or St. Mary's records?

Barnsley Yeomanry Cavalry

Wed Mar 25, 2009 5:27 pm by kathm

Can anyone tell me where I could find any information on the Barnsley Troop of Yeomanry Cavalry around the 1850s-70s. My particular interest is in Samuel Charles Collier (1826-1896) who attained the rank of sergeant in this battalion. Any details would be much appreciated.

You may email me at admin@marlarweb.com or post in the forum at marlarweb.com. Thank you in advance. And are there any Marlars still residing the South Yor...
